'Proof of Life' Album Launch

British Nigerian, singer songwriter, Ola Onabulé, joins forces with the exciting Swiss Guitarist Nicolas Meier for an EU quintet tour presenting their brand-new album Proof of Life. Songs about love and life that delve further into their expression than just the subject matter, with references from around the world.

Both artists are perfectly matched in their habitual exploration of culturally diverse elements of sound in their music. Onabulé’s songwriting style blends beautifully with Meier’s exploration of Eastern stringed instruments in the Turkish Makam and Ayak scales.

Onabulé has performed on the main stages of many of the world’s most prestigious festivals in Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria, Washington, San Sebastian, Istanbul and more and has collaborated with some of the world’s leading big bands and symphony orchestras, including the Grammy Award-winning The WDR Big Band. He has also performed with many legendary jazz artists including Diane Reeves, Al Jarreau, Natalie Cole, Hiram Bullock, Randy Brekcer, Gladys Knight, Roberta Flack, Patti Labelle and Diana Krall.

Meier’s considerable talents drew the attention of rock guitar legend, Jeff Beck, who made Nicolas a mainstay in The Jeff Beck Group — carrying him on two world tours during the course of the last several years.)

This event will last approximately 90 minutes, including an interval.

‘A masterful fusion of global influences performed with virtuosic musicianship’ Jazz in Europe Magazine

‘Whether you tune in to the grooving tracks, or heartfelt lyrics – another masterpiece’ George Whitty
