Sally Davies Workshop

Voices Unwrapped

Join singer, choir leader, composer and multi-instrumentalist Sally Davies for 2 workshops on songs from the English Tradition, with arresting harmonies in 3 and 4 parts in acapella. Learning will be both by ear and from the dots. The workshops are progressive so best if you attend each one!

Sally Davies is a singer, choir leader, composer and multi instrumentalist. She directed the Cecil Sharp House Choir  for 11 years until 2019 which sang mostly her own arrangements of songs from the British Isles. She continues to lead the Wing-It Singers in Hackney whose repertoire draws on other singing traditions as well, particularly those of Georgia, the Balkans, France and Spain. Her choirs perform regularly both in and out of London.

She leads workshops all over the country including running the Folk choir at the Dartington International Summer School for four years. Her arrangements are sung by many choirs and smaller acapella groups and her book of folk song arrangement, Lovers, Legends and Laments has sold widely both in the UK and abroad.

As a singer she has performed with many theatre companies and singing groups over the years and is currently performing with her daughters in the acapella trio Davies & Daughters.

Sessions last approx. 90 mins for 40 participants max.
