Karim Kamar

Having grabbed the world’s attention through viral videos of himself playing at public pianos across the UK, neo-classical pianist and composer Karim Kamar comes to Kings Place for a very special intimate performance.

Performing as a solo pianist since 2013, Karim Kamar draws inspiration for his compositions from the likes of Hania Rani, Ólafur Arnalds, Lang Lang and Ryuichi Sakamoto. His evocative pieces and charismatic playing has amassed him a huge following, both online and offline.

From his humble roots of serenading passers-by in train stations to now having played some of London’s most prestigious venues, including Ronnie Scotts, The Royal Albert Hall, and The Jazz Cafe, Karim Kamar is a force to be reckoned with.

‘The vibe when Karim hit the stage was electric. He stopped me breathing.’ – Joelle Taylor, poet & playwright
