We’re delighted to announce the line up for this year’s Songlines Encounters Festival. Amongst the spectacular line-up we have Puglia’s Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino celebrating their 50th anniversary with their swirling taranta music, Mali’s stunning vocalist Rokia Koné from Les Amazons d’Afrique, our first qawwali group from Pakistan with the young Chahat Ali, and the groundbreaking Gurdjieff Ensemble from Armenia. Alongside them singers in Polish, Kurdish and Turkish and the prize-winning Nani Vazana singing in Ladino.

As ever the festival is proudly presented in partnership with one of the world’s leading global music magazines Songlines, and will feature more exciting additions to come.

Nani Vazana sings Ladino

Breathing new life into the ancient Spanish-Jewish language, singer, composer, trombonist and pianist Nani creates a bridge between the past and future with socially relevant lyrics celebrating migration, gender, and female empowerment. Nani performs songs from both albums 'Ke Haber' and 'Andalusian Brew' for this special performance.

Rokia Koné

Rokia Koné is one of Mali’s most beloved artists and a member of supergroup Les Amazones d’Afrique. Her debut album in collaboration with Jacknife Lee (U2, Taylor Swift) earned her widespread acclaim. She makes her Kings Place debut, as part of Songlines Encounters Festival.

Olcay Bayir

Singer-songwriter Bayir’s music is a mixture of original compositions and folk songs of Anatolian heritage. Drawing from her Kurdish Anatolian roots, she sings songs of her past with a contemporary twist, reflecting her multicultural and multilingual background.
